Key Responsibilities Design develop and optimize new and existing tooling fixtures and jigs for manufacturing processes. Oversee the maintenance repair and refurbishment of production tooling to ensure operational readiness. Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve quality. Collaborate with manufacturing design and quality teams to define tooling requirements and provide technical support. Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling components. Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling performance lifespan and cost-effectiveness. Ensure all tooling complies with safety standards quality specifications and operational requirements. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline. 3-5 years of experience in tooling design development and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA). In-depth understanding of various tooling types (molds dies jigs fixtures) and manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding stamping CNC machining). Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application. Proven ability to troubleshoot tooling issues perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions. Bonus Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications. Proficiency in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software for tooling design and validation. Demonstrated experience leading complex tooling development projects from concept to production. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 principles as applied to tooling such as smart tooling or predictive maintenance.
