What You Can ExpectAs a Power Congestion Junior Trader you will report to Director Congestion Trading and you will be responsible for congestion trading in ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) ISO (Independent System Operator). The goal of the section is to explain every day activities of someone who works in this role. Convey the day-to-day impact and responsibilities of this position within the business unit they will join. Trade Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) in ERCOT ISO across various periods Systematic approach to fundamental analytics and trade execution Act as the central resource on the firm regarding regional ISO information working with various groups in the organizationCommunicate drivers of Day Ahead and Real Time congestion market outcomes based on macro-fundamentals (supply demand renewables) and mirco-fundamentals (specific transmission and generation outage impacts bids facility limits)Comply with the ISO and company protocolsDevelop opportunities to generate new revenue streams such as deal flows and virtual marketsSupport asset managers with ISO fundamental views/ analysesParticipate in ISO meetings as appropriate assess and communicate commercial impactsDevelop track and communicate performance benchmarksWhat Youll BringA four-year degree in which you completed courses in Engineering/Business/Finance or other relevant disciplinesTwo years of trading experience in Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) marketsStrong analytical skills with congestion trading experienceStrong understanding of the powerflow fundaments such as shift factors line-outage distribution factors and contingency analysis conceptsStrong working knowledge of fundamentals of ERCOT transmission gridClear and effective communicatorWillingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues Proficient in SQL and VB or PythonKnowledge of statistical techniquesAbility to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracyAdditional DetailsThis role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; 4 days in officeMust be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;CompensationSalary Range: $113900 $174570 USD annually This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal state and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography experience education internal pay alignment or other bona fide factors.
