TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR
ABOUT US:
Northwest Traffic Control Services is a certified Women Business Enterprise providing professional traffic safety solutions in accordance with MUTCD standards. We specialize in traffic control planning, jobsite setup, and maintenance of traffic for construction projects. We also provide rental and sales of traffic control equipment, including attenuator trucks, arrow boards, message boards, drums, cones, barricades, and signage.
We are currently seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor to provide daily supervision of traffic control crews and field operations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This role is responsible for overseeing jobsite setups, managing field employees, supporting safety compliance, maintaining equipment, communicating with customers, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range: $60,000-$65,000 per year
Overtime opportunities are available for hours worked over 40 in a workweek

SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required based on business and project needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide daily supervision of traffic control crews and field employees
Manage daily crew assignments and support field operations
Perform jobsite visits to ensure work is being completed safely, properly, and in accordance with company standards
Oversee traffic control setups and ensure crews follow jobsite requirements, company procedures, and MUTCD standards
Serve as a customer liaison and communicate professionally with contractors, project contacts, and internal team members
Prepare daily and weekly reports as needed
Oversee the maintenance, condition, and proper use of traffic control equipment
Conduct toolbox safety talks with field staff
Handle safety incident reporting and assist with follow-up as needed
Conduct employee training and testing
Assist with employee coaching, performance concerns, and disciplinary matters
Help resolve jobsite issues in a timely and professional manner
Drive company vehicles as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required
2-3 years of supervisory experience required
Prior traffic control, roadway construction, utility, or field operations experience strongly preferred
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to direct traffic control operations and lead field crews
Knowledge of traffic control equipment, work zone safety, and field procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate jobsite documentation
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed
Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
Local day travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree preferred but not required
Traffic control certification preferred
Experience conducting safety talks, training, testing, or incident reporting
Experience leading field employees in construction, traffic control, utility, logistics, or related environments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is regularly performed outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, and active roadway environments. This role may involve exposure to moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous tools, and traffic control equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
TRAVEL
No overnight travel is anticipated for this position. Some local day travel may be required for jobsite visits and field support.
