Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNEDDemonstrate leadership abilities to effectively coordinate teams and communicate expectations clearly in a fast-paced transportation environment.Supervise and assign daily work to seasonal and full-time company drivers to ensure compliance with company standardsDispatch loads built and assigned by the Routing Specialist to Willoway Drivers using Willoway standardsCommunicate schedule or duty changes with drivers promptlyManage on-the-road issues (delays breakdowns delivery issues)Handle escalated service failures or disputes with internal drivers.Collaborate with Traffic Manager to optimize productivity in carts drivers and 3rd party haulingDirect inbound and outbound shipments shuttle operations third-party services and inter-company transportationCoordinate with 3rd Party Stone Haulers on schedules safety and executionBuild expand and manage 3rd Party relationshipsWork with the Routing Specialist on billable rates for 3rd Party Services.Negotiate and renew 3rd Party contracts for next seasonReview and Manage KPIs pertaining to drivers efficiency and the cart program.Own the Cart Program.Maintain Rack Inventory Management to meet operational requirements- work with Routing Specialist and shipping docks in the process.Utilize the CC Database for cart recoveriesOTHER RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize and lead Annual Driver MeetingsAddress annual CC LTA limitations during off-seasonManage fleet maintenance scheduling and compliance recordsMaintain DOT Compliance with driver files and medical cardsEnsure compliance with trip and fuel permits across statesMaintain fleet mileage records for UCR reportingMonitor drug and alcohol testing compliance for registered driversWork with software providers such as Samsara and CC to optimize operationsConduct 3rd Party hauling performance reviewsConduct annual performance reviews for all direct report employees.TRAINING & BACKUP RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as a backup for the Administrative Assistant and Routing Specialist in their absence ensuring continuity of operations.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Accountability Lead by example with the Winning with Accountability mind set (Clarity Specificity Ownership Sharing). Hold all direct reports accountable for meeting expectations and timelines.Safety Foster a culture of safety at all levels of the company by continuously creating improving implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures.GGOB Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organization on GGOB principles and open book management. Coach direct reports on financial literacy strategic direction of the company. Continue to develop a positive culture.Brand Harmony Develop build and support internal and external Brand Harmony creating the ultimate customer experience at every touchpointSKILLS:Working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeERP handling and functionEffective problem solvingKNOWLEDGE:Microsoft Office productsFileMaker Data BaseGreat Plains Data BaseABILITIES:Strong interpersonal skills ability to communicate well in both written and verbal form.Able to navigate and execute several functions at once while maintaining accuracySkilled at balancing and executing several competing priorities simultaneously.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.Strong organizational and time management skillsDetail orientedEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
