Job Description Summary:The Traffic Sign Mechanic I is responsible for installation repairing and maintaining traffic signs and posts. This position may also receive on-the-job training in fabricating signs in the shop utilizing a computerized sign making system.Job Description:Salary Range: $37139.00-$99026.00BUDGETED SALARY: $43324.76.00/ANNUALLYEssential Duties:Participates in the layout and marking of roads and parking lots prior to painting including road intersection markings special zones and other traffic lines on street pavements and curbs as requiredOperates sign and road marking support vehicles as requiredParticipates in the installation repair and maintenance of traffic signs and posts prepares materials to be used for installations and maintains sign shop equipmentFabricates signs in the shop utilizing a computerized sign making system as requiredPrepares and completes written Traffic Work OrdersYears of Experience:1 year of related experienceYears of Supervisory Experience:noneEducation:High School Diploma or equivalentCertifications Licensures and Examinations:Possession of a valid Class C non-commercial drivers license with no more than three (3) points acceptable for job entry but must obtain a valid Class A CDL license with O restriction and air brake and tank vehicle endorsements within six (6) months of appointment to position.Flagging Certification within six (6) months of hire (Required);Chainsaw Safety Certification within six (6) months of hire date (Required);Tree Trimming Certification within six (6) months of hire date (Required);Forklift Operators Certification within six (6) months of hire date (Required)Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of geography in and around Harford County or ability to obtain knowledgeKnowledge of methods and techniques of general maintenance workBasic computer skills with the ability to utilize software hardware and communication devices to perform tasksAbility to operate basic hand tools and maintain tools ability to perform minor maintenance on buildings equipment and groundsAbility to follow and execute tasks based on directions communicated in a variety of ways including ability to interpret Standard Operating ProducesSAFETY:Must comply with all Federal (OSHA) State of Maryland (MOSH) safety regulations and applicable Harford County safetyCOMPENSATION:Other compensation may include but is not limited to:OvertimeCompensatory timeShift DifferentialsBENEFITS:Harford County offers an exceptional benefits package that includes:Health Dental & Vision insuranceFlexible Spending AccountsState Retirement Plan and Deferred CompensationLong Term Disability and Life Insurance for Employee Spouse and ChildrenGenerous Leave Package & Paid HolidaysTuition Reimbursement Key Skills Mechanic Experience,Diesel Engine Repair,Mechanical Knowledge,Air Brake,Alignment,Automotive Diagnostics,Automotive Repair,Maintenance,Welding,Hydraulics,Equipment Repair,Leadership Experience Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Monthly Salary Salary: 37139 - 99026
