Work Schedule:

  • Friday-Monday 6:00AM-4:30PM

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in a mechanic role, specifically with large trucks and trailers.
  • Welding experience is mandatory.
  • Proficient in air brake systems and electrical components.
  • Diesel truck experience is mandatory.

Are you an experienced mechanic with a passion for working on large trucks and trailers? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Trailer Mechanic who will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers in our fleet. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping our equipment roadworthy and ensuring the safety of our drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to trailer and diesel truck components.
  • Fabricate and assemble parts as necessary for repairs.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough inspections on trailers to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move trailers and equipment as needed.
  • Solder electrical components as required for repairs or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure timely project completions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role, specifically in trailer or diesel engine repair.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with fabricating and assembling parts for various trailer components.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of suspension systems and their maintenance is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to mechanics are a plus.
