Apply now and join a community that improves peoples lives the planet and our companys performance by transforming renewable resources into products people depend on every day.Position Title: Transportation CoordinatorPay Rate: $29.16/hrCategory/Shift: Hourly Full-Time (4:30am 1:00pm Monday Friday)Physical Location: 12851 Alondra Blvd Norwalk CA 90650The Job You Will Perform:Direct plan and manage the day-to-day operations of all activities involving transportationResponsible for completing action items related to Truck and Trailer Federal Inspections/AuditsManage and maintain VMO & DMO/ Experience leveraging J.J. KellerServe as point-of-contact for all transportation related inquiries and issuesCommunicate with customers proactively and professionally ensuring all commitments are being met and customers needs are addressed timelySchedule trucks & trailers for service/repairsSchedule daily pickups and respond to customer requests for scheduling and deliveryWork with dock to ensure trailers are loaded with equipment as neededSchedule direct and coach Trucking team members as needed to achieve Plant safety and production objectivesLead daily trucking safety meetingMonitor driver daily logs VCRs and driver hours for accuracyMonitor overtime and efficiencies in the trucking department and route accordinglyBe a leader in encouragement and enforcement of IPs safety standardsEstablish and communicate to drive team members job performance requirements and minimum standards for safety and productivityEnsure all drive team members are knowledgeable of Plant safety policies and proceduresMaintain all equipment maintenance filesWork with Finance Specialist for POs related to trucking departmentAssist with scale as neededSpot inspect tractors for cleanliness and perform random ride-a-longsDrive as needed to cover team vacations and/or illnessBe a backup for Operations LeadOther duties as assignedThe Skills You Will Bring:Must be 21 years of ageHS Diploma or equivalentMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust be able to read speak and write enough English to converse with the general public read signs and signals respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and recordsLead/Supervisory experience in transportation or related industry (preferred)Excellent communication skills verbal and writtenStrong customer service follow-up and accountability skillsStrong critical thinking skills attention to detail and ability to draw conclusionsGood time management skillsPride in reliability and working with a teamFlexibility to work overtime and adapt to changes as neededMust be familiar with cargo loading procedures to assure proper distribution location and securityKnowledge of Traffic Dept. processesExpert knowledge of shipping processes and proceduresFamiliarity with fleet compliance solutions preferably J.J.
