Job Description
The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and supporting a team of drivers while ensuring all customer needs are consistently met. This role oversees daily route operations including recruiting and developing qualified drivers maintaining appropriate staffing levels creating weekly schedules and ensuring all drivers are properly trained in recordkeeping customer service and workflow processes. The manager ensures full compliance with Company and DOT regulations by overseeing routine truck maintenance coordinating inspections and communicating safety requirements. They conduct annual ride-alongs to evaluate route efficiency and driver performance address customer service issues in collaboration with Sales/Service Representatives and maintain detailed records for operational accuracy. The role requires managing Hours of Service compliance serving as a technical and service-oriented role model and remaining on call 24/7 for issue resolution. Additionally the Transportation Manager partners with the Safety Coordinator to conduct safety meetings handles administrative tasks such as bi-weekly reporting and route accounting oversight supports new account setup and completes other duties as needed.The ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation.At least 3 years experience in a customer service related functionPrevious leadership experienceExcellent organizational skillsHas succeeded at a job that required attention to detailExceptional customer service skills Computer skills needed for the jobClass A CDL LicenseHigh School Education or GED College level coursework preferredRequired Experience:Manager Key Skills Javase,Analysis,Legal Operations,Light Vehicle Driving,Adobe Indesign Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
