Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Purpose:Assists cooks in the preparation of all items for the Food and Beverage outlets.Duties:Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizesAssist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables and marinating meatsFollow proper food handling and safety proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work areaCollaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal serviceAdhere to dietary restrictions and special requests from customersSkillsCulinary skills: Knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor combinations, and food presentationExperience in a dietary department or similar food service environmentProficient in food handling and safety practicesAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong knife skills for food preparationFamiliarity with the food industry and its standardsPrevious experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred, but not requiredWillingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staffAbility to work well as part of a team
