Salary/Position Classification15.00 Hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)6-12 hrs/week hours per week100% Remote Work Availability: NoHybrid Work Availability: NoPurpose of PositionHelp students to become better independent learners by assisting them in the understanding of course material and answering their questions.This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.Duties & ResponsibilitiesHelp students to become better independent learners by:Assisting students in the understanding of course materialIdentifying strengths and areas of improvement regarding the content of the coursework and study habitsAnswering student questions and guiding them through class assignmentsConducting review sessions before examsCompletion of CRLA-certified tutoring trainingMaintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and hours workedOther duties as assigned by the Tutor CoordinatorMinimum RequirementsDemonstrate good study skills and work habitsExhibit a service-oriented attitude by focusing on helping students succeed in their coursesPossess awareness & understanding of varying identities and experiencesStrong interpersonal and professional communication skillsDemonstrate dependabilityMust have taken Accounting 200 & 201 and have proof of understanding of course material evidenced by a minimum grade of B in the course (or equivalent coursework) for which you will tutorA minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0Successful completion of a Criminal History Background CheckIn compliance with federal law all persons hired will be required to verify identityand eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.To ApplyFor full consideration applications must be received by the closing date and include the following materials: Resume One (1) Completed Professional Recommendation Form from a UND professional staff or faculty member who is familiar with your academic performance and/or learning strategies: UND Learning Services Recommendation Completed Learning Services Questionnaire: UND Learning Services Tutor QuestionnairePlease include in the application if you are currently or have in the past 12 months been employed with the University of North Dakota the North Dakota University System or any other North Dakota State agency.
