Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract-based position is seeking an onsite Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the academic year, located near Hamilton, GA. The role will run from early August 2026 through late May 2027, with some potential planning days at the start and end of the assignment. Full-time hours are available, though those desiring part-time schedules may be considered based on district needs.

As a TVI, you'll have an active role in collaborating with the district to determine the best placement for you based on your experience and age-group preferences. You'll also be responsible for maintaining daily service logs to accurately document your professional impact.

Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience teaching in school settings with visually impaired students is preferred
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; comfort maintaining daily service records
  • Willingness to work onsite; remote/virtual TVI placements not available for this position
  • Flexible to adapt to varying caseloads and age groups based on district needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are visually impaired within a K-12 setting
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver accessible curriculum and adapt materials as needed
  • Maintain compliance with documentation and service logs
  • Engage in professional discussions to determine best student placements prior to assignment
