Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a positive impact by supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic full-time contract role. As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you will provide educational services across various schools, ensuring every child's unique learning needs are met.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to school-aged students with visual impairments in a variety of educational settings
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student inclusion and achievement
• Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for accommodations and assistive technology
• Travel independently to assigned schools within the county, managing an itinerant schedule
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and services provided

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with school-aged children who are visually impaired preferred
• Comfortable traveling to multiple school sites within Delaware County
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
