(DSS) is seeking experienced Security Officers in the Manhattan area for a Charter School.PAY RATE: $21.00 - $22.00/hrSHIFT AVAILABLE: Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 0800-1600BENEFITS:Paid Time Off ( PTO)Medical PlanVision PlanDental Plan401 KLife InsuranceCareer Development OpportunitiesReferral BonusesCommuter BenefitsJOB DUTIES:Provide a safe secure environment for students staff and guests inside the school.Establish and maintain good rapport with parents students staff and community members.Prior School experience preferred.Ensure safety and efficient reporting:Monitor hallways stairwells toilet facilities outside facilities and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.Assist with fire drills crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.Update security records logs and reports.Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.Assist in daily operational duties as needed. JOB SUMMARY: Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel visitors and premises. Work requires the ability to stand for the majority of workday.
