Job SummaryProject: Integrating Natural and Cultural Values in Conservation Projects in Oregon Faculty Lead: Dr. Ruth Dittrich Economics In partnership with: Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Cultural Resources Department We are seeking two undergraduate student researchers to join a funded environmental research project in SpringFall 2026. Students will help investigate how cultural and natural values can be integrated into conservation and restoration projects across Oregon. About the Project Environmental groups state agencies and Tribes often share similar goals around stewarding landbut approach ecological projects through different lenses. This project explores where Indigenous cultural values and Western ecological priorities align and how conservation efforts can better incorporate Native perspectives from the start. You will work on the projects literature review with focus groups and case studies (e.g. West Eugene Wetlands Mt. Hood post-fire restoration).
