This includes engineering teams distributors and more than 100 qualified construction crews with extensive experience across all ISP types and markets; over 300 experienced bury drop crews; and more than 700 professional technicians.We are seeking an Underground Laborer to join our team in Fairfield CA. In this role you will support both aerial and underground telecom construction by performing hands-on tasks such as trenching conduit placement material handling and fiber installation. You will assist with fiber blowing basic troubleshooting and equipment operation while learning to read maps schematics and network designs. The RolePerform a variety of manual labor tasks including trenching site preparation conduit placement and general construction support using standard hand toolsAssist with fiber installation activities such as fiber blowing pulling and relocating RF and fiber services as well as constructing and repairing underground fiber and RF linesSupport aerial and underground crews as trained including basic troubleshooting of RF and fiber issuesOperate vehicles trailers and equipment as certified and assist with equipment setup such as reel trailers line trucks bucket trucks saws and drillsHandle material movement job site cleanup and routine maintenance tasks as directedRead maps design schematics and project diagrams and learn required inventory and materials for each buildFollow all safety procedures adhere to NESC guidelines and maintain a safe work environment on every job siteOther duties as assignedRequirementsPractical experience in aerial and underground outside plant (OSP) telecommunications construction for coax and fiberExtensive knowledge of RF and fiber network architecture design and bill of materialsAbility to read and interpret maps drawings schematics and other project documentationKnowledge of applicable city county and state clearance codesComfortable working directly with field crews and performing physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 70 lbsAbility to solve complex field problems with a hands-on approachHolds required field certifications (e.g. climbing Flagger)Effective verbal written and phone communication skillsAble to perform well in a fast-paced high-volume environmentAbility to follow daily commitment to safetyMust provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves drivingPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)The compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
