This role is ideal for experienced tradespeople who take pride in high-quality workmanship and can work efficiently in fast-paced commercial construction environments.Location: Chicago IL and surrounding areasEmployment Type: Full-Time Union-RepresentedUnion: Chicago Regional Council of CarpentersResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications to determine project requirementsTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut shape and smooth lumber and other materialsaccording to measurementsBuild window frames doors staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed itemsLay out floorings roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatibleOperate hand and power tools safely and effectivelyCollaborate with other tradespeople and supervisors to maintain project timelines and quality standardsMaintain a clean and safe work environment following all company and OSHA safety guidelinesAssist apprentices in developing their carpentry skills and knowledgeRequirementsActive member of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters (required).Proven field experience in commercial construction carpentry.Proficiency in the following areas:Door and hardware installationAcoustic ceiling grid installationCommercial framing and drywallHealthcare construction experience is a plus.Minimum of two valid certifications required (four preferred) such as: OSHA 10 Scaffold User Lift (Aerial Work Platform) User and/or Powder-Actuated Tool UserCompensation & BenefitsCompensation benefits and working conditions are provided in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters.
