For information about ABMs benefits visit ABM Team Member Benefits Front Line Team Members (Programa de Beneficios de ABM)This is a Union position.Position SummaryThe Journeyman Engineer is responsible for the safe efficient and compliant operation of building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical infrastructure.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate maintain and repair HVAC systems boilers chillers and cooling towers.Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems.Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.Maintain plumbing systems including pumps valves and fixtures.Respond to service requests and emergency calls in a timely manner.Maintain accurate logs records and documentation of work performed.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.Assist in training and mentoring apprentice engineers and maintenance staff.Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.QualificationsMinimum 35 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance.Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and fire/life safety systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing bending and kneeling.Willingness to work rotating shifts weekends and in secure environments.Working ConditionsIndoor and outdoor environments.Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
