Union Payroll Administrator

Hiring for a Union Payroll Administrator Hybrid + Benefits + PTO

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in UNION PAYROLL
  • Experience with union construction payroll is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Union Payroll Administrator to process weekly payroll for a construction company. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, managing garnishments, and processing employee paychecks. The ideal candidate will have union payroll experience and a strong understanding of payroll systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of approved timesheets.
  • Track, calculate, and deduct garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Process employee paychecks and direct deposits efficiently.
  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll-related questions and inquiries.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies, reviewing historical records and processing wage corrections or adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate employee data flow and maintenance.
  • Administer the electronic timekeeping system, including employee setup, monitoring approved timesheet submissions, and ensuring accurate data transfers to and from the payroll system.
  • Maintain employee records and process updates in a timely manner, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Process layoff and termination checks in accordance with required timelines.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly payroll reports for management.
  • Adjust employee hours based on in-plant swipe time data, submit overrides, and manage schedule adjustments

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of Frankfort, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.83 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
