Unit Manager (RN or LPN)

Rockledge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rockledge, FL is looking for an RN or LPNto join their Team as the Unit Manager!

Position Summary

The Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit within the skilled nursing facility. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care, compliance with federal and Florida state regulations, coordination of interdisciplinary services, supervision of nursing staff, and promotion of positive resident outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Manage and coordinate resident care on assigned unit.

  • Conduct daily rounds to assess resident status and identify care concerns.

  • Review and monitor physician orders, treatment plans, and care plans for accuracy and implementation.

  • Ensure timely completion of assessments, documentation, and nursing interventions.

  • Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise and support licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.

  • Assist with staffing assignments and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Participate in orientation and training of new employees.

  • Monitor staff compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requirements, OSHA standards, infection control practices, and facility policies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Assist with surveys, audits, and quality assurance activities.

  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences.

Resident and Family Relations

  • Serve as a clinical resource for residents, families, and staff.

  • Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.

  • Promote resident rights, dignity, and person-centered care.

Quality Assurance and Risk Management

  • Monitor quality indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Assist with infection prevention and control initiatives.

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.

  • Review incident reports and follow up on identified issues.

Documentation

  • Complete nursing assessments and progress notes as required.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical records.

  • Review documentation for compliance with reimbursement and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

  • Current, active Florida RN or LPN license in good standing.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or subacute care preferred.

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards of practice.

  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
