Position Summary

The Unit Manager (UM) provides leadership and oversight for a designated nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff management. This role is key in supporting clinical excellence, staff engagement, and a positive resident experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to maintain exceptional standards of resident care.

  • Coordinate and oversee resident care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Louisville Gardens policies.

  • Manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care.

  • Complete performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and support employee development.

  • Monitor clinical outcomes and initiate improvements when necessary.

  • Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.

  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, infection control efforts, and safety programs.

  • Assist with managing unit resources and maintaining cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Active Ohio LPN license required.

  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.

  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of skilled nursing regulations and standards of care.
