Job Description SummaryThis position is Hybrid Eligible Reporting directly to the Vice Chair of Finance and Administration the Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III is responsible for performing professional duties in accounting and finance operations including reconciliations accounts payable accounts receivables procurement in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Tracking of radiology billing for autopsies and submit quarterly journals for funds transfer to Radiology department.20% Core and Service Center ManagementMonthly invoicing for the Core Centers of Histology and Electron Microscopy. Work closely with the Core directors and lab staff to ensure accurate and timely internal billing. As appropriate work with the grants and contracts office for annual service center rate reviews. Monitor and assist with additional Core and service centers within the department. Monthly reconciliation of expenses and revenues for the cores as well as providing monthly reports to the Core Directors and Vice Chair of Finance; providing analysis variance reporting and recommending financial strategies to align with projected forecast.20% Procurement Team ManagerDirect supervision of three Fiscal Technicians and one Supply Specialist to include employee performance life cycle hiring on-boarding training coaching planning stage documents and annual year-end review as well as offboarding. Responsible for ensuring the purchasing staffs adherence to state and institutional policies as well as procedures and best practices set by the College of Medicine and the Department for all procurement methodologies to include OurDay procurement Expense Reports and State P-cards.15% Inventory Assets and Space ManagementEnsuring accurate tracking of Pathology department assets and inventory; coordinating with purchasers IT the fixed assets team and surplus. Annually functions as the liaison to the COM Deans office to complete the annual inventory audit. Provides reports as requested on departmental inventory. Coordinating and oversight of room and lab cleanouts and disposals when appropriate and removal of hazardous materials per university and state guidelines.10% Post-Award Research ReportingUnder the direction of the Vice Chair of Finance and Administration and in collaboration with the Pathology Departmental Grants Administrator complete research budget to actual reports for distribution to Faculty in the Research Department.5% BudgetingWork closely with the Pathology Department Finance Manager to monitor budget to actual expenses in the current fiscal year and to project revenues and expenses for annual budgeting for the Forensic division and Core and service centers.5% Other duties as assignedPerforms additional administrative and fiscal duties to facilitate the business and administrative functions of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Department.MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:A bachelors degree and four years professional experience in a related area such as accounting auditing finance or commercial lending.
