The Space Systems Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an IPT Lead on the USA Program to oversee operations at the Hardware Integration Facility in Decatur AL. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense space cyber and commercial fields Leidos provides responsive cost-effective engineering scientific and IT solutions.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for leading assembly integration and test activities for space structures systems and hardware. The candidate is required to perform planning estimation scheduling and resource management. They will perform trade studies lead tooling and ground support equipment development lead logistic and transportation planning create test plans and procedures support engineering review boards and interface with customers routinely. The candidate will manage manufacturing engineering fabrication and assembly personnel; provide root cause determination and corrective actions; and work to provide defect free hardware while minimizing life cycle product cost.They will create test plans procedures and support engineering review boards. The candidate will work in an office and shop-floor environment.Basic QualificationsRequires Masters of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in the aerospace or spaceflight industry.Extensive understanding of NASA hardware development qualification and assembly processesAbility to understand and work through technical issues that arise during testing and assembly.Understanding of lean manufacturing and its application to low volume production programCandidate must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project.Candidate must have demonstrated experience work with and reporting EVM.Demonstrated experience leading teams.Preferred QualificationsAbility to work well with cross-functional teams design engineers analysts manufacturing project management and customer representativesExperience with honeycomb core CFRP compositeExcellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to work with multiple interfacesExperience with NASA programs and flight readiness/acceptance processes or equivalent space flight system developmentExperience in launch vehicle hardware and physical integrationExperience with NASA flight readiness review and approval processesWere not looking for perfectly polished resumes or perfect fits.
