Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The Blake School is seeking an exceptional, dedicated Second Grade Lead teacher to join our highly collaborative Upper Elementary program (grades 2-5) starting in the 2026-27 school year. Blake is an institution committed to educational excellence, collaboration and pluralism. Blake will cover travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town. This role is perfect for a teacher driven by intellectual curiosity and a commitment to research-based best practices.The ideal candidate will be a strong model and teacher of intercultural competence and equitable practices, committed to meeting the comprehensive academic and social-emotional needs of every student.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncludes but not limited to: Embrace Blake’s mission and values and commitment to pluralismCollaborate with grade-level team and division colleagues to plan and implement an appropriately challenging curriculum in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies Promote academic, social-emotional and physical development of children in individual, small group and whole-class settingsAssess students using current strategies and tools to inform instruction and give feedback Complete progress reports and participate in twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences Supervise children during lunch and afternoon carpoolIntegrate meaningful and appropriate use of technology within the curriculum and as a communication toolAttend Back-to-School Night, admissions open house, faculty workshop days, grade-level and division meetings, relevant all-school events and all mandatory professional development Application Requirements Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree and teaching credential preferred)Minimum five years lead teaching experience working with elementary-age studentsSalary Range: $56,000-$85,000. This represents the expected annual salary for this position. In determining salary, we consider professional experience, applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on these factors, a candidate's salary offer could exceed this range.Requirements:
