The Federal Planning group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative highly talented planner for immediate employment in the Arlington VA or Virginia Beach VA offices. The Project Planner will serve on multi-disciplinary planning projects for mainly military installations and federal agencies. As part of the project team the planner will develop creative and innovation solutions to address the Federal Governments issues.The responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to: Compile data and conduct research in support of project deliveryCreate innovative and informative graphics to support the planning documentsPlay a key role in the preparation of plansWrite design and format sections of planning reports and documentsProduce material for project meetings and workshopsParticipate in on-site workshops in support roleCommunicate effectively with project team and managerManage discrete project tasks as requiredQualifications : Minimum Requirements:BA/BS in Urban Planning or related degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDue to the nature of this role U.S. Citizenship is requiredProfessional experience using industry standard software including: Adobe InDesign Illustrator Photoshop ArcGIS Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint Sketchup Pro and AutoCAD. Preferred Qualifications:Due to the nature of the role must have the ability to obtain a security clearanceMasters degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related fieldFour (4) years of professional experience in the Urban Planning consulting industryProfessional experience with Federal / Military organizations agencies or departments as a clientPositive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamworkExceptional writing research analysis and communication skillsExcellent time management skills and ability to balance prioritiesEffective problem solving and analytical skillsEfficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teamsApt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layoutsAbility to manage discrete project tasks as requiredAdditional Information : Relocation assistance is not available.Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
