JOB DESCRIPTION

The U.S. Center for Mental Health and Sport (USC-MHS) (501c3) is dedicated to advancing the mental health and well-being of athletes, coaches, and sports communities across the country. By integrating mental health education into sports environments, we work to reduce stigma around mental health, increase access to resources, and equip leaders with the tools to support those they serve. Through training programs, targeted mission driven partnerships, and community engagement, USC-MHS is building a national network that promotes healthier, more supportive athletic communities at all levels of sport. The Development Associate VISTA will strengthen USC-MHS by building sustainable systems in fundraising, communications, and program delivery. The VISTA will play a key role in increasing our scale and reach and our ability to partner with nonprofits to improve access to mental health education and resources in low-income communities across the country. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about mental health, sports, and social impact, with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience or interest in fundraising, social media and marketing, program development, or digital content creation is preferred. Ideal candidates are self-starters who can manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders while helping to grow the organization and our reach. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development while making a tangible impact on mental health in sport environments. VISTA members will build valuable professional skills, expand their network within sport, and contribute to scalable solutions that continue to serve communities long after their service year.
