Job Description

Position Title: US Director, Payor & Access Strategy Lead, Medical Affairs (PASL).

Role Summary

  • The US Director, Payor & Access Strategy Lead is responsible for US Field Medical (FM) strategy, training and prioritisation of the Value & Implementation (V&I) plan for USMA Health Systems Oncology (HSO).
  • Therapeutic area responsibilities include genitourinary cancers (urothelial, renal, prostate) and selected oncology assets, with scope subject to change with organisational needs.
  • The role drives strategic excellence and optimises HSO and USMA readiness to support payor access, pharmacoeconomic and scientific exchange aligned to Global V&I plan priorities. It is regionally based in the United States.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities

  • Direct, coordinate, implement, control and execute USMA and HSO payor and access strategy for defined cancers and assets while aligning with global medical and commercial strategy.
  • Lead the US HSO integrated Field Medical plan process in collaboration with US HSO Executive Director, US HSO Senior Director PASL, Team Leads and global/regional cross‑functional teams.
  • Develop and direct payor and access strategy in alignment with organisational priorities and unmet needs.
  • Collect, analyse and communicate scientific insights from US HSO Medical Affairs Director field engagements to inform strategies across R&D, GMSA, Outcomes Research and Commercial.
  • Lead the US Payor Access Team to prioritise gaps/needs assessment, value evidence strategy and tactical plan for global V&I annual planning input.
  • Serve as the interface between GMSA, Commercial and other relevant HQ functions and the US HSO Team.
  • Identify and prioritise US HSO field resources, training needs and activities across the oncology portfolio to optimise field team readiness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement strategic congress priorities and coordinate planning of MAD activities at key scientific congresses.
  • Continuously scan the healthcare environment, quality landscape and emerging trends to optimise US Field HSO Team capabilities.
  • Represent USMA HSO, in partnership with GMSA, in Expert Input Forums or Advisory Boards as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced healthcare/science degree (MD, PhD or PharmD).
  • 5+ years of prior pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably Field Medical or equivalent biotech/pharmaceutical/Medical Affairs strategy experience within oncology.
  • OR 5+ years of experience working in quality/managed care/cancer center settings with demonstrated oncology scientific acumen.
  • OR Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) / Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) with 5+ years of clinical experience in a cancer centre.
  • OR equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement a strategic plan.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and results‑oriented project management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, US healthcare delivery system structure and function, pharmacoeconomics, population health management, quality management, value‑based payment and healthcare delivery policy and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed environment, promoting inclusion, maintaining trust and respecting others.
  • Ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders, including cross‑functional teams, scientific leaders and key decision makers.
  • Knowledge of national and society treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, OIG, HIPAA and other relevant laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading complex projects and handling multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Formal training in pharmacoeconomics or outcomes research.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: $210,400.00 – $331,100.00. Eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive where applicable. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision and health insurance for employee and family; retirement benefits including 401(k); paid holidays, vacation and compassionate and sick days.
