About the PositionThe City of Grants Pass Public Works Department is currently recruiting for a full-time Utility Worker I or IIto join our dedicated Wastewater Collection Division (position level depends on qualifications). We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for exceptional public service to join our team.At the City of Grants Pass employees are empowered to achieve the best solutions for our community through shared knowledge vision and a culture defined by our mission vision and values.Key Responsibilities for a Utility Worker for Wastewater Collection:Operates a high-pressure vacuum truck to excavate holes unclog storm drains remove debris from around pipes clear catch basins and various similar tasks; repairs cleaning hose as needed.Completes sewer system cleaning with use of proper nozzle selection and pressure selection based upon the size and type of pipe.Inspects and assists with needed repairs of wastewater manholes and pipes for cracked and/or broken interior and exterior structures.Safely operates the closed-circuit television (CCTV) van to inspect Wastewater pipes.This position is covered in the Teamsters bargaining unit and incumbents must live within a 30 minute drive of their regularly assigned work site.Questions regarding this role can be directed to or.The City of Grants Pass is a High Performance Organization that has a well-defined Mission Vision and Values which provides the framework for our organizational culture.
