SUMMARYThe Value Stream Generalist B is responsible for tasks within Value Stream foundry molding line and core making operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate powered industrial vehicles to transport materialsTransport sand molds and foundry sandRemove hot castings from the sand moldPosition hot castings in a cooling positionLoad sand into a screenerOperate the sand screenerRemove cast material from the screenerPerform preventative maintenance tasksShake out castings from the moldTransport castings and sand tubes from the molding lines to the cleaning room melt and sand reclaim building.Transport Foundry supplies as required and place in designated locations.Maintain dust collectorsChange bags on dust collectors and keep area cleanOther duties as assignedCritical CompetenciesBasic math skills and basic measurement skillsAbility to obtain a forklift license upon hireSafe operation of powered industrial vehiclesAbility to work independentlyEducation and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPhysical Demand and Work Environment:Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels dust particles sand and weather changes. The workstation requires the use of a respirator. The material handling route is indoor and outdoor. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift. Work schedule has a standard start time and flexible end times.Physical requirements include lifting up to 50lbs good dexterity and ability to bend twist reach and walk. Ability to navigate through tight spaces.
