The role follows work orders ensuring repairs meet FRA AAR and customer requirements while upholding company guidelines and safety standards. This position works independently with limited supervision and shares expertise by teaching other team members.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.Reads and interprets job work orders and maintenance bulletins to perform required valve disassembly inspection and reassemblyCoordinates and completes repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hoursNotifies supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasksInteracts with crew members in a team environment as well as with supervisorFollows all safety rules keeps work area clean and complies with all Greenbrier Environmental Health and Safety PoliciesEnsures FRA and AAR and customer quality assurance standards are metCompletes repair tasks at the level of quality expected by Greenbrier at all times to reduce rework and to ensure on time deliveryQualificationsThe following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.Minimum QualificationsAbility to read and interpret work orders Ability to operate a torque wrenchAbility to work under minimal supervisionAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyAbility to share their knowledge and expertise by mentoring and training fellow team members to ensure overall team successPreferred QualificationsPrior knowledge and skillset to rebuild valves and properly document completed workAbility to complete interior corrosion inspection on valve bodyAbility to perform LEL and oxygen levels and coil testingAbility to create pull list of needed valve materialsAbility to complete all valve assembly and lead test activity on tank carsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
