Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Position: Athletic CoachReports To: Athletic DirectorLength of Contract: Sport SeasonEvaluation: Ongoing by Athletic DirectorResponsibilities:Uphold and enforce school and Board policiesFacilitate daily practices to train student athletes in both technical and tactical skills in order to improve both individual and team performanceAttend DCS coaches professional development workshopsBe available for professional development opportunities (usually offered 4 times a year)Keep up to date on schedules by signing up for updates on Websites4sports for every sport, and by communicating with the Athletic DirectorLiving CurriculumEmploy Matthew 18 principle in all conflict resolutionMaintain open lines of communication with parents and studentsMaintain confidence in and hope for the success of every studentSpeak to the heart of the student while enforcing classroom rules and School policyPrayerfully maintain a lifestyle that demonstrates a commitment to ChristGrowthActively promote the school in the communitySupport extra curricular activities through attendance of events throughout the school yearParticipate as needed in development and recruitment activitiesMetrics for SuccessEnsure that all athletes are cared for physically, emotionally, and spirituallyMaintain open lines of communication with parents to help foster positive relationshipsCome prepared dailyRequirements:Qualifications:- Vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ- Proficient in both technical and tactical skills related to specific sport- Certified in emergency care procedures (CPR, IMPACT, First Aid, and AED)- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Passion for the mission of Delmarva Christian Schools- Infinite hope is the success of every student
