Job Summary

The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic vascular sonography using high-frequency sound waves as ordered by a qualified provider.


Location

Houston, TX 77025


Work Schedule

Monday – Friday

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5 x 8-hour shifts)


Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging

Perform vascular ultrasound exams (carotid, venous, renal, aortic studies)

Ensure high-quality, diagnostic images

Apply knowledge of vascular anatomy, pathology, and imaging principles

Communicate exam instructions effectively to patients across age groups


Patient Care

Provide safe, high-quality patient care with strong bedside manner

Prepare and position patients for procedures

Follow sterile techniques when required


Systems & Documentation

Use RIS for documentation and workflow management

Upload and manage images in PACS

Document atypical findings affecting image quality


Quality & Equipment

Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance

Report malfunctions to supervisor

Maintain logs and ensure availability of supplies



Qualifications

Education

Required: High School Diploma / GED

Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field


Experience

Required: 1+ year vascular ultrasound experience

Preferred: 2+ years experience


Certifications (Required)

RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)

BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)


Skills

Knowledge of vascular imaging and pathology

Basic computer and typing skills

Experience with RIS/PACS (preferred)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Multilingual ability (preferred)

Ability to perform a wide range of vascular studies independently
