Manager - Anatomic Pathology at Piedmont Healthcare Inc.

Responsibilities: Department:Pathology  Location:Piedmont Atlanta Hospital  Schedule: Day Shift, Monday -Friday  JOBPURPOSE: Under thedirection of the Director, the manager oversees departmentaloperations of the Laboratory. Performsadministrative duties including oversight and compliance of pointof care testing and affiliated offsiteareas. Monitors operations to ensure safe, efficient and qualityperformance standards for employees, patients and visitors.Collaboration with nursing, administrative, medical and other staffto coordinate patient care activities will benecessary to support the facilities mission statement, achievecustomer satisfaction, and identify system problemsas opportunities for improvement. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognizedcollege or university in Medical Technology or a closely relatedfield is required. MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: Five (5) years of clinicalexperience, including at least two (2) years with supervisoryresponsibilities, is required, preferably in an acute care hospitalsetting. Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty areaapplying for.  MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Management of AnatomicPathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology;certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/orCytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists(ASCP) required.
