An amazing number, but we’re always looking for new ways to continue making a difference, and new people to make a difference with.The OpportunityThe VP, Head of Clinical Pharmacology & Translational Medicine (CPTM) is a senior scientific leadership role that integrates human-biology-driven translational science, precision medicine/biomarker strategy, and clinical pharmacology to enhance the probability of technical and regulatory success (PTRS) of every Innovative Medicines program — from candidate selection through proof-of-concept and life-cycle management.The translational mandate is deliberately science-forward: understanding human disease biology, target engagement, mechanism of action and patient stratification — rather than owning clinical development execution. The successful candidate will lead a small, high-caliber global group of translational scientists, biomarker experts and clinical pharmacologists, and will act as a connective enterprise leader who bridges Discovery, Global Clinical Development, Pharmacometrics, Bioanalytics, Regulatory and BD&L through influence, scientific credibility and matrix leadership — without relying on direct reporting lines.This position can sit in West Chester, PA/Parsippany NJ or Israel (we cannot support relocation at this time).Key ResponsibilitiesTranslational & Precision MedicineLead translational strategies to convert human disease biology into target validation, biomarker, patient stratification, and indication-expansion opportunities.Direct biomarker discovery and development programs across genomic, proteomic, imaging, digital, and fluid-based platforms to demonstrate target engagement, pharmacodynamic response, safety, and clinical benefit.Partner with Clinical Development to design proof-of-mechanism and proof-of-concept strategies and oversee translational study execution.Manage assay and specialty vendor selection, validation, and interpretation of translational data.Clinical PharmacologyDefine and execute clinical pharmacology strategy for biologics and small molecules in partnership with Pharmacometrics/MIDD.Oversee early-phase and dedicated clinical pharmacology studies, including DDI, organ impairment, QT, food-effect, PK/PD, exposure-response, and special population assessments.Advance model-informed drug development to support dose selection, trial design, and global regulatory interactions.Enterprise LeadershipServe as the cross-functional leader aligning Discovery, Clinical Development, Regulatory, CMC, Bioanalytics, Pharmacometrics, and BD&L around integrated translational strategies.Represent the function in portfolio governance and program reviews, ensuring scientific consistency across assets.Support business development activities, including due diligence, licensing, collaborations, and external scientific partnerships.People & ResourcesLead, mentor, and develop a global team while fostering a collaborative, science-driven culture.Manage departmental budget, resource allocation, vendor strategy, and workforce planning.Your Skills and ExperienceEducationM.D., M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Neuroscience, or a related field; Clinical Pharmacology board certification/fellowship preferred.Required Experience12+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in translational medicine, biomarker sciences, and/or clinical pharmacology, including 5+ years leading multidisciplinary teams.Demonstrated success advancing discovery assets through early clinical development, including IND/CTA submissions and regulatory agency interactions.Strong expertise in biomarker strategy, assay development, and translational research across genomic, proteomic, imaging, digital, and fluid-based platforms.Experience supporting development of both biologics and small molecules.Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix organization.Experience leading global, geographically dispersed teams.Preferred ExperiencePrior VP-level or equivalent leadership experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations.Therapeutic area expertise in neuroscience, immunology/inflammation, and/or rare diseases.Experience supporting business development activities, including due diligence and integration of in-licensed assets.How We’ll Take Care of YouAt Teva, better health starts from within, and that includes you.
