Temasek is a global investment company headquartered in Singapore, with a net portfolio value of S$434 billion (US$324 billion, €299 billion, £250 billion, and RMB2.35 trillion) as at 31 March 2025. Marking our unlisted assets to market would provide S$35 billion of value uplift and bring our mark to market net portfolio value to S$469 billion.

Our Purpose "So Every Generation Prospers" guides us to make a difference for today's and future generations.

Operating on commercial principles, we seek to deliver sustainable returns over the long term.

We have 13 offices in 9 countries around the world: Beijing, Hanoi, Mumbai, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore in Asia; and Brussels, London, Mexico City, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Washington, DC outside Asia.

This role within AI Pod serves as a bridge between Temasek's investment activities, the frontier AI ecosystem, and our global portfolio. This supports our broader mandate on broad-based AI adoption and enablement across portfolio companies through pertinent insights, technology and capability access, as well as talent connectivity. Operating out of San Francisco, the role anchors Temasek's presence in the global AI hub - converting insights and relationships into differentiated advantage for both our investment activities and broader portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Deepening Access, Connectivity and Ecosystem engagement: Leverage targeted investments in leading AI funds, category-defining AI companies and leading AI ecosystem players (e.g. frontier model labs, research institutions) to deepen Temasek's access to frontier innovation, strengthen ecosystem connectivity, and accelerate AI-driven portfolio value creation.
  • Deploy select AI investments: Evaluating, leading due diligence, drafting investment approvals, co-ordinate internal transaction processes (including legal documentation) and post-investment performance monitoring
  • Translate product and technology insights into portfolio impact: Partner other investment teams to evaluate priority sectors to inform both investment theses and portfolio-wide transformation efforts; assess the commercial potential and technical feasibility of AI technologies in due diligence and identify potential organic and inorganic value creation initiatives for existing portfolio companies
  • Drive AI diffusion and support portfolio enablement: Support portfolio companies' AI Transformation efforts by sharing insights on AI developments and product roadmaps which are pertinent to Temasek's portfolio
  • Support Temasek's broader AI strategy: Work closely with the AI Pod team and other internal stakeholders to align initiatives and ensure timely sharing of insights across Temasek's AI efforts.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of working experience in corporate VC, venture investing, management consulting, and/or AI product development roles - experience shaping or evaluating AI products / business models is strongly preferred
  • Proven product and business acumen: ability to assess early-stage companies, diligence product/tech claims, and form conviction on markets, teams, and business models.
  • Strong understanding of GenAI models, enterprise AI deployment, data systems, and emerging stacks across infrastructure, tooling, and applications.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across different contexts
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams across ambiguous, fast-moving environments with multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear strategic recommendations and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong academic foundation with analytical depth; technical degrees (computer science, engineering, applied math) or meaningful product/technical experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently drive workstreams, prioritize effectively, and deliver at pace.

US$240K to US$300K annually (not including additional incentive compensation). Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and other conditions of employment.
