Varda also has offices in Washington DC and Huntsville AL (coming soon).Join Varda and work to create a bustling in-space ecosystem.About This RoleOur pharmaceutical team is looking for a highly motivated and effective Vice President of Program Management who will support our efforts in improving therapeutics with microgravity. This is an opportunity in an exciting area of growth for Varda where you will get to shape Vardas pharma culture and play a significant role in establishing the low Earth orbit this role you will report to the Chief Science Officer.ResponsibilitiesManage external programs from early-stage development through production of clinical trial materialsEnsure project deliverables meet expectations for quality cost and scheduleFacilitate and organize programmatic reviews and external-facing presentationsTravel as needed to support external programsPartner with subject matter experts and technical leads to overcome challenges and programmatic risks as they ariseOwn overall pharmaceutical program management effortsEstablish streamlined project and program planning processesMonitor report and forecast program schedule while managing key risksEnsure programs accurately track and forecast budgetsEnforce and maintain high standards for quality of documentation and program executionRecruit coach and lead program/project managers to drive pharma program executionEnsure alignment of projects and programs to Vardas strategic initiativesBasic QualificationsPhD in biology chemistry chemical engineering materials science or related fields and 8 years of relevant industry experience or MS and 12 years of experienceTrack record of successfully managing pharmaceutical services projects and programs especially in the context of formulation development on a new technology platformExperience in external-facing roles in pharmaceutical industryDemonstrated expertise in new technology development (platform modality or process)Exceptional communication (verbal and written) organizational and program management capabilities in a collaborative environment.Preferred Skills And ExperiencePhD in biology chemistry chemical engineering materials science or related fields and 12 years of relevant industry experience or MS and 15 years of experienceExperience developing teams and processes from a blank slateExcellent negotiation conflict resolution and leadership skillsExpertise in small molecule and biologics crystallization including for formulation of high-concentration biologicsExperience interfacing with regulatory agencies and authoring regulatory data packages and filings (IND NDA BLA)Pay RangeSalary Range: $210000.00 - $240000.00/per yearThis role ison-sitein El Segundo CALeveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills education level experience level and job performanceYou will be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awardsITAR RequirementsVarda like all employers must ensure that its employees working in the United States are lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. Additionally our employees are exposed to and have access to certain export-controlled items.
