Visiting Faculty of Information Systems at UMass Lowell

General Summary of Position:The Operations & Information Systems (OIS) Department at the Robert J. Manning School of Business University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a one-year Visiting Faculty position for the 2026-27 academic year starting from Fall 2026 semester. Position is renewable for up to four years.This visiting position is primarily in the field of information systems with a preferred ability to teach courses in data analytics and AI in-person and on-line. This is a one-year contracted position that would be a good fit for a newly graduated Ph.D. an Assistant Professor without a full-time position a strong ABD candidate or a practitioner with significant and relevant professional experience. The primary responsibilities will be to provide high-quality teaching mentor students and develop/support strategic business partnerships with organizations in the region for student-related activities such as internships co-ops and capstone projects.The OIS Department houses a group of highly research-active faculty in two main areas Information Systems and Operations Management. The department currently delivers programs in Undergraduate Masters and Ph.D. programs in both areas including two undergraduate major concentrations two minors two graduate certificates two MBA options one MS program and two Ph.D. addition to traditional face-to-face course offerings UMass Lowell has a large and growing set of online courses on Canvas and programs. The OIS Department has a full-time faculty of thirteen members and offers programs at the undergraduate Masters and Ph.D. levels. Faculty and Ph.D. students in the department maintain a high-level research record and collaborations worldwide.Minimum Qualifications (Required):MBA or a masters degree in closely related disciplines from an AACSB accredited institution (preferred)3-5 years of work experience in field of IS/ITThe ability to work effectively with diverse groupsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and writtenAdditional Considerations:Ph.D. degree (or ABD all-but-dissertation) in Information Systems or related areas from an AACSB accredited institutionAbility to teach courses in MIS with focus on AI and data analyticsProfessional experience relevant to AI data analytics or related areasAbility to foster industry partnerships to establish experiential learning opportunities for students through capstone projects internships and research grants.Special Instructions to Applicants:This is a full-time benefited non-unit position.
