Join the Club!About the RoleThe VP of Collections Strategy will shape the enterprise vision for how we support customers through delinquency and recovery using data technology and thoughtful design to drive better this role youll lead strategy across the full collections lifecycleoptimizing how we route accounts engage customers across channels partner with agencies and manage recovery efforts. Youll apply advanced analytics machine learning and AI-driven insights to improve performance strengthen controls and enhance the customer experience.Success in this role requires close partnership with Operations Product Data Science Technology and Compliance to ensure our strategies are scalable compliant and aligned with LendingClubs mission. Were looking for a collaborative data-driven leader who brings deep expertise in collections and credit risk thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building solutions that create value for both our customers and the business.What Youll DoEnterprise Collections Strategy LeadershipOwn the end-to-end strategy for optimizing collections performance across delinquency stages channels and workflowsLeverage advanced analytics machine learning and AI-driven decisioning to improve contact effectiveness recovery performance operational efficiency and customer experiencePartner with Operations Product Data Science and Compliance to ensure strategies are scalable compliant and aligned with enterprise objectivesDelinquent Account RoutingDevelop deploy and continuously refine routing strategies for delinquent accounts optimizing dialer assignment messaging cadence segmentation and workflow prioritizationCollaborate with modeling and data science teams to integrate ML-based scorecards predictive models and AI-generated risk signals into routing logicImplement robust performance tracking exception reporting and real-time monitoring to ensure strategies operate as intended and deliver measurable liftOversee adherence to model governance standards ensuring all models and analytical tools meet regulatory and internal risk requirementsOmnichannel & Alternative Contact StrategiesDesign and execute a multi-channel contact strategy encompassing SMS letters email chat digital self-service and intelligent virtual agentsUse AI-based personalization and optimization techniques to tailor outreach cadence channel selection and messaging contentBuild rigorous test-and-learn frameworks (A/B and multivariate) to assess incremental impact and operational implicationsPartner with Operations and IT to assess feasibility scalability and capacity implications of new strategiesPre-Charge-Off Agency StrategyDevelop a strategic sourcing and placement model for pre-charge-off accounts emphasizing economic efficiency and performance transparencyDrive agency selection segmentation logic and score-driven placement strategies using predictive analyticsEstablish a controlled test -house structure to evaluate agency performance and optimize allocationOversee operational processes governing placement eligibility timing and quality controlsRecovery StrategyDefine and manage a comprehensive post-charge-off recovery strategy integrating internal recovery efforts external agencies litigation partners and debt-sale evaluationBuild and maintain rigorous test-and-control programs to benchmark agency and internal team performanceWork with Operations and Compliance to implement enhanced oversight and documentation aligned with regulatory expectations (e.g. CFPB requirements)Develop MI dashboards and vintage-level analytics to improve forecasting reserving and financial planning accuracyEvaluate alternative recovery approaches (e.g. debt sale warehousing AI-assisted propensity models) to maximize net recoveriesCollections Programs & Product StrategyEnsure compliance and performance of key collections programs such as re-aging settlement hardship and payment plans and debt management programsBuild and maintain comprehensive MI to monitor volumes economic impact operational performance and customer outcomesImplement robust exception reporting to detect deviations from program standards and collaborate with Operations to remediate issues promptlyAbout You15 years of experience in credit risk collections strategy or analytics within financial servicesAt least 5 years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams in collections strategy A/R management or similar analytics functionsDeep expertise in leveraging quantitative methodsincluding ML/AI techniquesto solve multi-dimensional business problemsProven ability to influence cross-functionally and lead strategic change across Operations Technology and Risk teamsExceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear actionable recommendations for senior leadershipStrong understanding of regulatory expectations related to collections recoveries model governance and customer-centric servicingBachelors degree or higher in a related field; or equivalent work experienceWork Location San Francisco or LehiThe above locations are eligible offices for this locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this roles team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model and our teams are in-office Tuesdays Wednesdays and -person attendance is essential for this roles success and remote placement will not be offers relocation based on actual job level. Time Zone Requirements Local hours (PT MT)While the position will primarily work local hours LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.Travel Requirements As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations as needed. Compensation The target base salary range for this position is 00. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge experience education skills and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClubs Total Rewards package.
