*Work with Progression, Inc. get your application bumped to the front of the line* Cyber Security SME Alexandria, VA (Hybrid) MUST: Experienced Cyber Security SME 20+ Years Of Experience in DoD IT and Cybersecurity environments 20+ years of experience and expertise supporting DoD Certification and Accreditation/Assessment and Authorization (C&A/A&A ) activities, with expertise across the evolution of DoD's risk management frameworks from DITSCAP to DIACAP to the current Risk Management Framework (RMF). Experience must include direct involvement in ATO processes, including package development, control implementation, continuous monitoring, and coordinating with Authorizing Officials (AOs). 10+ Years of experience supporting Department of Defense IT and Cybersecurity programs equivalent to MC&FP or Service Headquarters level. 7+ Years of experience serving in a DoD CIO and Authorizing Official (AO) or equivalent capacity. MUST posses one of the following: Global Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) Active Top Secret Clearance Required DUTIES: Lead end-to-end RMF execution (from categorization to continuous monitoring) across enterprise-level DoD systems. Serve as the final technical + policy authority on all ATO artifacts, system security plans, and control inheritance strategies. Build and enforce enterprise governance frameworks aligning with DoDD 8140.01, DoDI 8510.01, NIST 800-53, and evolving DoD cyber directives. Provide direct counsel to DoD CIO or AO-equivalent leaders on security architecture, enterprise policy, accreditation risks, and approval decisions. Translate complex technical risks into GO/NO-GO decisions that shape mission readiness. Manage the political chessboard between program offices, cybersecurity teams, mission owners, and the AO staff. Engage with DISA, DA&M, DCSA, Service CIOs, mission partners, and cyber policy offices. Resolve conflicts in policy interpretation, inheritance decisions, cross-domain issues, and shared services.
