VP Development & Construction - Critical Facilities - Austin TXThis opportunity is working directly with a leading mission-critical data center developer / wholesaler / Colo provider. This company provides turnkey data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their clients ever-changing mission-critical facilitys operational needs. They accomplish this by providing reliability of mission-critical facilities for many of the worlds largest organizations (Hyperscale and Enterprise Customers). This opportunity provides a career-growth minded role with exciting projects with leading-edge technology and innovation as well as competitive salaries and benefits.We are looking for a VP of Critical Facilities Development & Construction to lead data center construction and development projects. The VP will oversee all aspects of project delivery including budget management scheduling and quality assurance ensuring projects align with company standards and objectives. This role requires providing strategic leadership to contractors consultants and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Focus on ensuring projects are delivered on time within budget and meeting scope and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized detail-oriented and capable of managing both the strategic and administrative aspects of development and construction including setting and oversight of budgets contracts change orders and other essential documentation. The ideal candidate preferably has come up the ranks from the GC Space as a PX that has MEP / Civil / Structural Experience. The ideal candidate will help grow the team with key hires in construction once on board.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of data center development and construction projects up to the point of either Core and Shell or through MEP Construction / Integration / Go LiveDevelop and maintain overall project budgets on all projects ensuring adherence to financial targetsOversee creation and manage project schedules addressing critical path conflicts as neededDevelop / Delegate the issuance of RFPs for project bids evaluate bidder qualifications and negotiate contractsSupervise consultant and contractor activities throughout all project phasesOversee job cost tracking systems to ensure compliance with budgets and schedules; process invoices and support cost reportingRegularly report on project status and key milestones to senior leadershipEnsure compliance with local state and federal regulations including permits and safety requirements.Participate in due diligence processes for potential developments and acquisitionsDrive zoning and rezoning efforts understand permit process collaborate with legal and engineering teamsImplement sustainability and efficiency initiatives or other energy efficiency programsContribute to ongoing process improvements and workflow optimization within the departmentBelong and attend professional organizations such as AFCOM ASHRAE 7x24 Exchange PTC Datacenter Dynamics / DCD Uptime iMasons Bisnow etc.Possess an extensive network within the mission critical data center facilities construction marketBackground in Critical Facilities Design Architecture Engineering and Construction ServicesQualifications:8-10 years of experience in construction management with a focus on complex data center or mixed-use critical facilities projects from inception to completionExperience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or as a General ContractorMust be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects.Previous GC experience (Holder Turner DPR HITT etc.)Strong experience managing project budgets schedules and contractsFamiliarity with design development and construction principles specific to mission-critical data center facilities MEP / CSA : Mechanical Electrical Plumbing Civil Structural and ArchitecturalProficient in drafting agreements and reviewing contractsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with design software is a plusAnalytical and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
