JOB DESCRIPTION

DescriptionWe are looking for an accomplished accounting executive to lead the organization’s financial operations in McLean, Virginia. This position will guide core accounting activities, safeguard reporting accuracy, and strengthen compliance across the business. The role also works closely with senior leadership to improve processes, deliver meaningful financial insight, and build the structure needed to support continued growth.Responsibilities:• Direct the full scope of accounting operations, including ledger management, payables, receivables, payroll, and formal financial reporting.• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and aligned with applicable U.S. accounting standards.• Lead period-end close activities and refine close procedures to increase efficiency, consistency, and control.• Design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks that support compliance and reduce financial risk.• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies while coordinating audit and compliance activities.• Establish accounting policies and operational procedures that promote standardization, scalability, and best practices.• Collaborate with FP& A and executive leadership to provide analysis that supports planning, performance evaluation, and strategic decisions.• Build, coach, and develop a strong accounting team while fostering accountability and high performance.• Support acquisition-related work by contributing to due diligence, integration efforts, and purchase accounting activities.• Champion process improvements, automation initiatives, and finance system optimization to enhance reporting and operational effectiveness.Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.• CPA designation is required.• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant leadership responsibility.• Strong command of U.S. GAAP and corporate financial reporting practices.• Demonstrated experience leading external audits and partnering effectively with audit firms.• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale high-performing accounting teams.• Hands-on experience with enterprise accounting platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.• Strong background in financial reporting, month-end close, and annual budgeting processes.Reach out to Mahil Santram via LinkedIn if interested in this role.Job typePerm
