Vulnerability & Patch Management Specialist at Recurring Decimal

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline 5 + years of patch management experience. Experience securing and/or conducting security assessments of container and cloud environments or in-depth knowledge of cloud, container, and application security best practices. In-depth knowledge of web-based attacks and mitigation strategies. Demonstrated success implementing risk reduction strategies. Strong critical thinking and problem - solving skills. Diligent, proactive, and strong attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with service provider to tune patch & vulnerability management tools to increase coverage, reduce false positives and false negatives, and improve processes. Improve and maintain Windows Server and workstations patching process and cycle Actively verify and apply security patches. Perform routine audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develop and maintain PowerShell Scripts to automate day to day tasks. Develop and maintain documentation for patching procedures and configuration of systems. Drive vulnerability assessment and remediation. Handle escalation support for workstation and server related issues. Adhere to all IT governance and IT policies. Follows change management procedure. Support the culture of continuous improvement by proactively investigating new risks and opportunities to strengthen organizational security posture. Assist in production of vulnerability management reports and statistics for management and board members.
