This role combines hands-on warehouse operations with direct customer service. You will be responsible for receiving and organizing shipments, processing orders, and maintaining inventory. In addition, you will assist customers at the service counter by taking orders, operating the point-of-sale system, answering phone inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience.The ideal candidate is a reliable team player with experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, bandsaws, press brakes, and shears. Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude are essential for success in this position.ResponsibilitiesReceive, inspect, and organize incoming steel shipments.Pull and prepare steel orders using forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other equipment.Operate machinery such as bandsaws, shears, and press brakes to fulfill customer orders.Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.Assist customers at the service counter by taking orders, answering questions, and providing product information.Process transactions using the point-of-sale system, including ringing up purchases and handling payments.Answer customer phone calls promptly and professionally, providing order updates and support.Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.Uphold safety standards and follow company procedures for equipment operation and warehouse practices.Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and customer service environment.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training a plus.Prior experience in a warehouse, steel supply, or industrial environment preferred.Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, bandsaws, press brakes, and shears.Strong customer service skills with experience handling in-person and phone inquiries.Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing and inventory management.Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.Willingness to follow all safety procedures and company policies.
