JOB DESCRIPTION

Warehouse Worker

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for pulling orders and staging them for shipping. This involves picking 20-foot long pieces of lumber, placing them on trailers, wrapping, and banding the wood for shipment. You will also pull doors, decking, and molding. The role requires comfort with lifting up to 100 pounds and may involve operating a chop saw for cutting wood to custom lengths or cleaning up wood scraps.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and stage orders for shipment.
  • Pick and place lumber on trailers.
  • Wrap and band wood for shipment.
  • Pull doors, decking, and molding.
  • Operate chop saw for custom wood cutting and cleanup.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 100 pounds.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Experience with power tools and tape measure.
  • General production and material handling skills.
  • Ability to take direction and willingness to learn.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift operation is a plus.
  • Experience in construction, production, or warehouse is beneficial.
  • Experience with hand tools, nail gun, and pallet jack.
  • Attention to detail and quick decision-making skills.

Work Environment

This role is set in a wholesale distributor and door manufacturer environment, essentially a large woodshop. The workplace can be messy with wood scraps and requires working around sawdust, glue, paint, acetone, and other chemicals. The door shop consists of three different production lines, with most starting on the steel or eagle line. You'll be working closely with over 30 individuals in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
