Warehouse Associate - 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Associate to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of shipping and receiving, as well as distributing materials and products within our warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Control the flow of shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise.
• Match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute them to shipping and receiving office associates for processing.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, rack location, or product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or designated route driver storage areas.
• Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
• The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse.
• Good tenure with at least 6 months at each place of employment.
• Ability to lift bins up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to count parts.
• Experience using a handheld scanner.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
