Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAre we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Water Resources/Hydraulics Engineer to support our Mid Atlantic Region located in Springfield, VA or Virginia Beach, VA. To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent related degree is required.What you’ll be doing:Develop drainage and Stormwater Management Design for Transportation improvement projectsDesign Stormwater Best Management Practice (BMPs) or SWM facilities to meet state and local requirementsPerform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, analysis, and modelingDevelop Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)Prepare report and technical memorandumPrepare construction drawings, quantities, cost estimates and specificationsAssist with roadway project development and other misc. civil engineering tasks for project design and deliveryWhat you need to have:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent related degree is required 4+ years related experience required Professional Engineer license preferred or working towards obtaining a PE license in the near futureStrong writing, oral communication, and teamwork skills Previous VDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of VDOT standards and procedures preferredA mix of technical and project management experience including, but not limited to: Virginia Stormwater Management Program Modeling H&H analysis Pump/lift station design and operations Erosion and sediment control plans and strategiesVirginia Beach/Hampton Road experience is a plusPerform technical work in various software applications, including but not limited to MicroStation, Openroads Designer, Civil 3D, PCSWMM, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS, and ARC-GISAbility to deliver quality projects for a wide range of clientsLand disturbance permits and storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP)Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
