Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for critical water Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) program assignment in the greater Atlanta Georgia area.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:PMs within the CIP Program Management Services Team (CIP PMST) are responsible for directly managing on behalf of the client and working collaboratively with client PMs Department of Watershed Management (DWM) contractors on select CIP projects to achieve CIP cost quality risk and schedule outcomes. Key tasks include:Assuring program standards and protocols are followed.Directly managing project management functions for assigned projects through planning design and construction phases:PlanningProject manage progress for Design Consultants (DC) contracted through the client for completion of Project Implementation Report (PIR) to schedule to cost and contracted quality and risk.Coordination and facilitation of procurement process for DC for Design Phase services.DesignProject manage progress of DC contracted through client (or if DB through DB Team) during design phase to schedule to cost and contracted quality and risk.Coordination and facilitation of reviews and meetings with DC and client staff.ConstructionProject manage progress of Construction Contractor (CC) or Design build Contractor (DBC) contracted through client during construction phase to schedule to cost and contracted quality and risk including:Enforcement of contract termsRapid escalation of issues in CC/DBC performance to client and or senior management.Monitoring progress and acting to drive CC/DBC recovery activities of progress lags scheduleOversight of Construction Manager (CM) contracted through clientPerforming or having performed by others review of RFIs Submittals RFS RFD Field Orders CORs and Pay Requests in a timely manner.Reporting:Produce project monthly status reports for submittal to client.Provide information and updates on projects to PMST Program Manager (PgM) Deputy Program Manager and Program Controls teamProvides feedback on project level lessons learned to PMST Deputy PgM for PMSTs lessons learned register.Administrative functions:Manages junior level staff as assigned for projects PM is managingCommercial Acumen:Display sound commercial judgement in dealings with DCs CCs and DBCs.Mentor junior project management staff on interpretation of contracts and on methods and best practices for holding contractors accountable for meeting the requirements of their contracts.Qualifications : Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree in engineering construction business or related field 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications:10 years of experience on projects or programs in the civil engineering and construction fields5 years at the Project Manager level on projects or programs in the civil engineering and construction fieldsProven track record in addressing and drive rectification of performance issues in DCs CCs or DBCsMasters degree in engineering business or related fieldExperience delivering multiple complex infrastructure projects and displaying sound commercial judgement in dealings with design consultants and construction contractorsExperience in assurances (risk management contracting insurances etc.)Experience with both conventional and design-build contractingPE or PMP CertificationAdditional Information : Sponsorship is not available for this positionRelocation is not available for this positionAbout AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
