Position Title: Web Developer (Contractor)Project: Safe Clean Water Program: Water 101 Resource DatabaseLocation: Remote (Los Angelesbased preferred)Contract Term: 40 hours total (over 48 weeks)Reports to: Research Associate Council for Watershed HealthProject OverviewCouncil for Watershed Health (CWH) is developing a searchable online Safe Clean Water Program (SCWP) Water Resource Database to make existing stormwater watershed management and water quality resources more accessible across Los Angeles County. The goal is to create a simple user-friendly digital tool to help SCWP grantees community groups and the public easily locate educational and technical materials.Scope of WorkThe Web Developer will design and build a lightweight accessible and searchable online landing page using an intuitive low-maintenance platform that can host a variety of resource types including original files (e.g. JPGs InDesign PNGs Illustrator MS Word etc) videos and external web links.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build a public-facing web page for users to submit new resources (files links descriptions and metadata). Standardize and organize existing resource sources and file formats.Collaborate with CWH staff to confirm core categories and tags (e.g. topic format audience geography).Develop a simple searchable web interface with filters and tagging functionality that allows users to browse and sort resources easily.Ensure the site is accessible responsive and intuitive for maintenance and non-technical users.Deliver a resources web library page that allows for both gallery and list views.DeliverablesFunctional prototype (database structure search filters and resource/data entry form)Searchable database with gallery and list viewsCoordination with CWH Teams and a written guide or short recorded walkthrough for staff useFinal hand-off of database files and admin credentialsQualificationsExperience developing interactive websites databases or searchable resource hubs.Proficiency in JavaScriptUnderstanding of metadata structure tagging systems and accessibility best practices.Ability to translate non-technical needs into user-friendly design.Preferred: Familiarity with environmental educational or public agency projects.Contract DetailsTotal hours: Approx. 30-40 hrs.Timeline: 48 weeksCompensation: Commensurate with experienceStructure: Work independently with brief weekly check-ins for feedback and iteration How to ApplyTo apply please email HR () and Tanishka Chellani () Research Associate at the Council for Watershed Health with the subject line: Webpage Developer: SCWP Resource Database.
