Weekend Fabricator at Federal Signal Openings

Job Summary:Setting up and operating machines that will cut bend saw and punch steel into parts that will be used in the assembly processAssisting with continuous process improvement and lean initiatives by following process flow remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team maintaining a clean work environment and offering suggestions for improvements etc.Moving materials between work centers as neededOther duties as assignedMachines/Tools: Safety Plasma tanks brake presses drill presses saws Messer Plasma Table iron worker overhead hoists forklift trucks computer hand tools power tools measuring devices such as micrometers and t - squaresEquipment: Safety glasses safety shoes with metatarsal guards ear plugs gloves tinted face shield etc.Environment:Heavy industrial atmosphere including exposure to grease oil heat humidity occasionally cramped quarters and possibly wet conditions.Job Requirements:Must have basic math knowledge to set up and operate machines accurately.Ability to manually move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular heavy physical exertion including but not limited to lifting carrying pushing pulling and bending. Using the overhead hoists requires ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.Ability to read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and complicated instructions blueprints measuring devices and perform basic computer data entry.Must have a wide field of vision for coordinated efforts with co- workers to move product and materials between manipulations.Ability to stand and work in various positions on concrete for several hours at a time.Must be a team player working with co-workers other departments and/or other TBEI facilities.
