JOB DESCRIPTION

Weighing And Grading Operator

Ensure the quality and accuracy of our grain operations by evaluating and managing product movement through the facility. As a Weighing and Grading Operator, you will collect, prepare, and analyze grain samples from inbound and outbound shipments to determine grade and quality while supporting accurate documentation and reporting. You will also interact with customers to address account-related inquiries and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys hands on work, takes pride in accuracy, and is committed to supporting high quality standards in a fast-paced operation.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. To obtain, prepare, test, and grade grain samples from inbound and outbound shipments.
  2. To respond to customers regarding account information.
  3. To perform housekeeping in work area and other areas of the grain facility as required.
  4. Collect grain samples using automated or manual grain probe and other equipment as required.
  5. Inspect and test grain for all factors per requirements and procedures.
  6. Provide weighing of inbound and outbound grain shipments per requirements and procedures.
  7. Complete grain data entry forms and documentation per requirements and procedures.
  8. Maintain proper set-up, inspection, and calibration of grain testing and weighing equipment per requirements and procedures.
  9. Provide customer support to include answering telephones, working with customers on account information, and making edits.
  10. Maintain housekeeping in work area and perform housekeeping in other areas throughout the grain facility.
  11. Perform all work within the safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies.
  12. Perform other tasks within the grain operation as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Reading, writing, math, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of standard computer applications.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Walking, bending, twisting.
  • Exposure to temperatures, humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db), grain dust, and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
  • Able to use standard office and communication equipment.
