Welder - 2nd Shift at Award Staffing

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Welder
• Pay Rate: $24.05/Hour
• Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
• Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 2:30PM-12AM & Friday 12PM-4PM (Mandatory overtime as needed, including Saturdays)
• Position Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally during the shift.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Safety conscious.
• Good attendance. Mandatory overtime as needed, including Saturdays.
• Must have good physical strength and stamina, good hand-eye coordination and good dexterity in hand manipulation and muscle coordination.
• To perform this job successful, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and /or ability required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Measure, square and assemble parts by welding parts together.
• Grind metal to correct sizes.
• Set up welding area for different production runs.
• Keep work area clean organized.
• Work within all safety guidelines.
• Performs frequent quality checks.
• Welding parts according to sizes specified on the work orders.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety.
• With close supervision, operates different types of equipment, by controlling their operation.
• Supply production with parts to ensure continuous workflow.
• Cross train on various machines to fill in when needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of all programs and tooling.
• Ability to work and communicate well with others.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Work within all safety guidelines.
• Change tooling.
• Cross training on various positions to ensure maximum output.
• Miscellaneous work duties and projects as directed.
